ONLY THE PERSON ADOPTING THE CAT CAN PICK UP THE CAT. The Rescue Agreement Policy states no cats can be rehomed or sold by the adopter. Cats cannot be adopted for someone else. RRCR policy is that young kittens and tweens go in pairs or there must be a friendly feline at home ready to play.
Some of our kittens have grown up together and are bonded and should be adopted together, and will be indicated as such.
RRCR has a strict no declaw and indoor only policy.
Upon receiving the adoption application and adoption agreement we will contact the potential adopter and do a phone interview and set up a time for a home visit before the cat or kitten is adopted out to their new home.
There is a time period allowed to ensure your newly adopted cat or kitten is a good fit. In most cases it is. Please read the “Introducing A New Cat” document included in your adoption package. ( Included here under Intoducing Cats)
Under no circumstances is an adopted cat from RRCR to be surrendered to a shelter or rehomed without notifying RRCR. RRCR has the option of approving the new home or taking the cat back.
Please keep vaccines, such as FVRCP and Rabies updated on a regular basis, (along with flea treatment if necessary) as recommended by your vet.
Some of the RRCR cats have a 3 year Rabies vaccine and will be indicated on their vet record.
In most cases the cat or older kitten will be already spayed or neutered, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed and microchipped.
If any vet appointments are required for vaccines, spay or neuter etc the adopter will be informed of such and it is the responsibility of the adopter that the appointments are kept. Cancelled appointments may result in the return of the cat to RRCR.
The cat will be microchipped with either 24 petwatch or EIDAP Mchips. Change of ownership registration will be completed by RRCR at no charge. However in the future if your contact information changes, please contact the microchip company and update your new information. Instruction documents on this process are included in your adoption package. Please follow the link below for microchipping information.

Dear New Adopter,
Thank-you for choosing to adopt a cat or kitten from Roo Roo Cat Rescue. You and your new family member have begun a journey of love and companionship.
Microchips are the best way to keep your cat safe and bring him or her home in the unfortunate event that he or she should dart outside. (Please note that Roo Roo Cat Rescue requires all adopted cats to be kept inside, but we do know that accidents can occasionally happen).
ONLY THE RESCUE CAN CHANGE YOUR OWNERSHIP REGISTRTATION AT NO CHARGE.
Please look over the enclosed 24PetWatch change of ownership form and sign at lower bottom right. Is there an alternate and/ or emergency number you wish to list? If so, please include it on form. Always a good idea to have more than one number listed.
*RRCR will change and complete the ownership registration at no charge.
IN THE FUTURE , IF THERE ARE ANY CHANGES IN YOUR ADDRESS EMAIL OR PHONE NUMBERS, PLEASE CONTACT 24 HOUR PETWATCH AND UPDATE. Owner’s information MUST BE KEPT UP TO DATE, so that in case your pet is ever lost 24PetWatch can contact you and your loving pet can be returned home as quickly as possible.
